There are nights where it's about dressing down for a chilled evening in the pub, and then there are nights when it's all about getting properly glammed up for an evening of class* and cocktails.
*70% of the night
Where else better for a cocktail night in Leeds then, than renowned cocktail bar The Alchemist. We're actually pretty spoilt for choice here in Leeds as we not only have one but two Alchemists to choose from. I reviewed the one in Trinity Center back in December (which you can read here) but for today's post I was invited to try out the cocktails at their most recent opening on Greek Street.
Dressing for a cocktail night
So before we get onto the cocktails and venue lets start at the beginning with the all important outfit...
When I think of a night of cocktails with the girls, my inner wardrobe sat nav automatically points me to a lace dress, more specifically a black lace dress. I think the Little Black Dress will always be a timeless piece - an essential for any wardrobe. There's something so classic about it making it perfect cocktail night attire.
Here's the pretty black lace Asos number I picked for the evening:
Back To The Alchemist - The Stunning Setting
I already had high expectations of the venue as the one in Trinity is such a unique chic space. I wasn't left disappointed - the wow factor hits you as soon as you walk through the grand doors and into the stunning interior. Unlike the other venue, this Alchemist provides a much more spacious setting, and doesn't leave you fighting to get a drink at the bar!
Whilst it's a great weekend spot for a cocktail night out, the relaxed spacious atmosphere also makes it a nice place to be mid week too, for some sophisticated after work drinks.
The Alchemist - Cocktails With a Twist
It's not just the luxurious setting that sets this cocktail bar apart from the others, it's also the outstanding drinks themselves that make The Alchemist such a popular hang out. You know that whatever you order, it's not going to be the usual cocktail experience as every drink seems to have an exciting twist on it, some even giving their own mini performances!
We started with the Mad Hatters Tea Party, which was a mixture of Ketel One, elderflower liquer, Cointrea, citrus, Gomme & water all boiled up and infused with fresh fruit. Once poured, the cocktail came out smokey and served warm - creating an interesting & super flavorsome drink.
As always, I had to order my all time favorite White Chocolate & Raspberry Martini. I'm far too addicted to that white chocolate foam... I can't even imagine the damage I'd do to my diet if they sold that stuff to take away - SO good!
Some other favorites I love include the Solero (surprise surprise - it's coated in white chocolate foam!), the Bubble Bath which really does bubble up like magic and the Screwball which is an adult twist on the childhood favorite.
nice post! yours are always TOP
